Slovenski oktet first sang in 1951 at the Slovenian Philharmonic, and ever since it has been regarded as the most representative Slovenian male vocal chamber ensemble.

The octet’s repertoire is exceptionally broad and diverse — from the Renaissance to folk songs of all nations, from Classicism and Romanticism to works by contemporary composers. It devotes special care to Slovenian song, which it presents with particular passion both at home and among fellow Slovenians around the world.
