Tonight and always with gratitude

With gratitude we look back to the time when we accepted the mission of the Slovenski oktet from our older colleagues. Twenty-two years have passed since then. Twenty-two years of dedicated music-making and the search for the right sound have, through the prism of time, become a fine tapestry of shared concert stages, spent in sincere and enthusiastic singing. In that time we have formed many bonds of friendship between the singers and the audience, who have received us with interest and encouraged us to persevere on our path. We are glad that we have managed to attract a young audience to our concerts and to prove ourselves also to those who gladly listened to the octet in the many generations before us.

A few months ago we announced that we were inviting new singers to join our ranks. We are glad that a good number of young singers responded and wished to take part in the ensemble. At the auditions we chose two young tenors, who will gladly continue the path of their predecessors.

After many years with the ensemble, the tenors Vladimir Čadež and Rajko Meserko are slowly bidding farewell to active singing in the Slovenski oktet, as they take on new career challenges. We are grateful to them for all the beautiful moments and the time that they devoted, with all their dedication, to the Slovenski oktet. Over the decades they have gathered enough impressions to fill a novel. With the wish that we will go on meeting and recalling the lovely moments of our time together, we thank them warmly for their many years of collaboration in the Octet and wish them all the best on their new paths.

And you, dear audience, we invite to our performances, to hear how the Slovenski oktet sounds in its new line-up.
